Video Embedding Tips

Video embedding is based on iframes, the same way as YouTube. Unfortunately, many content management systems and WYSIWYG HTML editors either totally or partially remove iframes after you paste them into your content. This causes the embeds to fail.

If this is happening to you, here are some things to try.

1. Most editors come with a 'Source' or 'View Source' button. Click that and then paste in your content. That may be enough to get it working, but if that doesn't work, try pasting it in and then saving it immediately, before your editor has a chance to strip it out.

2. If your site runs WordPress, try installing Embed Iframe.

3. TinyMCE is a common WYSIWYG editor, used on lots of sites including those based on Joomla. Read this to fix issues with TinyMCE.

4. On sites using CKEditor (such as many Drupal-based sites), install MediaEmbed.

Still not working? Try googling for whatever you're using to run your site along with the words 'embed iframe'. That should turn up some useful results. If you find something good, let us know and we'll link to it.
